Faith

Faith is the "second" slayer, called after Kendra was killed by Drusilla. It seems like she had a rather hard life before, an abusive and alcoholic mother, her father has never been mentioned and her first watscher has been killed by Kakistos while she, unable to help her, watched her die. Eventually she fled and came to Sunnydale on the search for the other slayer, Buffy. The first time they met, Faith easily kills a vampire and seems to fit into the little group without too many problems. She may be different, but Buffy's friends seemed to like her. It's Buffy who was jealous and soon a tension between the two arose. Faith never really made it into the group, she lived in a cheap motel and tried to isolate herself, probably she feared to like them too much thus she can be hurt by them.

In a fateful night Faith accidentally killed an human. Buffy and her ran away and Faith tried to convince Buffy to forget about it and tell no one. She acted like she doesn't care at all and Buffy feel so much guilt she went to Giles for help only to find out Faith told him she was the killer. But Giles didn't believe her and the group was on a mission called "Changing Faith".

Under this pressure Faith turned to the "dark" side, working with the major. Buffy's and Angel's tries to reach her were destroyed by the intervening of Wesley and the Watcher's Counsil. She found her place at the side of the major, the first person really caring about her and she committed several crimes for him. In the end it came to the final battle between Faith and Buffy. Buffy stabbed her in the stomach and she fell off a building, crashing hard on a truck. She was in coma but even then she wasn't inactive. She helped Buffy to beat the major by telling her his weakness in a dream.

But when she woke up again all this is forgotten again. She was ready for revenge and a magic device the major left for her, helped her. She switched bodies with Buffy and was on the way to Mexico went she got the news that vampires held people hostage in a church. She rushed in to help and had to face Buffy again. They switched bodies again and Faith escaped into direction of LA.

There she was hired by Wolfram & Hart to kill Angel. She happily accepted the assignment and was on the hunt. She tortured Wesley and it came to a fight against Angel. Finally she broke, begging him to kill her. He didn't and decided to help her to find her way again. Again it was Buffy and the Counsil destroying this. The Counsil came for her but she could escape. But Angel was arrested to find out where she was. He wouldn't give in but it was Faith who rescued him by apparing at the police station and making a confession.

The last time we saw her Angel visited her in jail. She seemed to be better, slowly recovering from the hell that had been her life and hopefully building up a new one.
